Out-of-Stater Navigator: Montanans Hit Sheehy For His Abysmal Reproductive Rights Record
What a week for Transplant Tim Sheehy! He got a chilly welcome at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Butte. As reporting broke that Tim Sheehy refused to support federal protections for IVF treatment, Montanans called out Sheehy for his attacks on reproductive health. And in a new ad, Shady Sheehy falsely claims, “I don’t need the money from lobbyists.” But his lobbyist ties run deep: He’s the co-founder of a D.C. lobbying group focused on steering funding to companies like his, and he raked in $100,000 from lobbyists in just six months.
MONTANANS CALL SHEEHY “THREAT” TO REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS
Montanans won’t stand for Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate Tim Sheehy trying to insert the government into women and families’ most personal decisions – and they’re letting him know. In recent letters to the editor, Montanans have made it clear that Tim Sheehy’s support for a national abortion ban and refusal to back federal IVF protections is wildly out of touch with voters’ support for reproductive freedoms.
SHEEHY REFUSES TO BACK FEDERAL IVF PROTECTIONS
In new reporting from the Billings Gazette, Tim Sheehy refused to go on the record backing federal protections for fertility treatment and falsely claimed via spokesperson that “no one is talking about banning [IVF].” This statement is a lie – Sheehy’s own endorser, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA), has come out in support of measures that would block IVF treatment for American families.
SHEEHY CLAIMS HE DOESN’T “NEED THE MONEY FROM LOBBYISTS” WHILE RAKING IN LOBBYIST CASH
Shady Sheehy is up with a new TV ad where he falsely claims, “I don’t need the money from lobbyists.” Check out Sheehy’s deep lobbyist ties below:
In just six months, Sheehy raked in more than $100,000 from lobbyist donations to his campaign.
One of Sheehy’s first meetings as he prepared to launch his campaign was with lobbyists in D.C. Throughout the campaign he has returned to D.C. multiple times to hold lobbyist meetings and fundraisers.
Sheehy attended a high-dollar fundraiser with health insurance lobbyists after calling to dismantle Montanans’ health care. The fundraiser was held one day after news broke that Sheehy called for the “pure privatization” of health care, which would overturn the Affordable Care Act and shutter rural hospitals.
TRANSPLANT TIM SHEEHY GETS A CHILLY WELCOME IN BUTTE
If Tim Sheehy was hoping for a warm welcome from the most Irish town in America and a beacon for labor rights, he was sorely mistaken. With his popped collar and a handful of green beads, Sheehy was met with loud booswhile he walked through Butte. It most certainly will not be the last time that Montanans raise their voices to make their feelings for Transplant Tim known.
