#TBT: Rosendale Opposes Bipartisan Medicaid Expansion That Helps Over 90,000 Montanans

Helena – Two years ago this week, wealthy real estate developer Matt Rosendale introduced a resolution expressing opposition to funding Medicaid expansion. The bipartisan measure Rosendale opposed has helped more than 90,000 Montanans get care and has saved the state of Montana over $40 million.

Rosendale also voted against the bipartisan bill that actually expanded Medicaid in Montana, a vote against providing financial help to rural hospitals and providing health care access to tens of thousands of people across Montana. Despite his vote against Montanans, the bill was passed into law and has been “absolutely critical” in helping veterans and other Montanans fighting drug addiction.

Those aren’t the end of Maryland Matt’s anti-Montanan beliefs. He has also supported eliminating essential health benefits including coverage for pregnant mothers, prescription drugs and mental health, all while rubber-stamping higher health care costs for Montanans.

“It’s clear Matt Rosendale does not care about Montana,” said Brooke Bainum, spokesperson for the Montana Democratic Party. “Instead of looking out for the people he should be representing, time and again he has vocally opposed legislation that makes health care more affordable and more accessible to Montanans.”
