Sheehy’s swampy ties to lobbyists benefit his bottom line and campaign and give him plenty of reason to be grateful
Helena, MT – This Thanksgiving, multimillionaire Tim Sheehy is certainly grateful for his swampy, insider ties that boost his business and fatten his wallet:
Well before Sheehy announced his candidacy, he was already rigging the system to benefit his bottom line. Sheehy and his family gave Rep. Ryan Zinke’s campaign and PAC nearly $50,000 after Zinke introduced a bill that Sheehy’s company, Bridger Aerospace, lobbied in favor of.
That wasn’t the first time Sheehy benefitted from his friendship with Zinke – shortly after Zinke became Secretary of Interior, Zinke awarded Bridger Aerospace its very first Interior Department contract.
Ahead of his campaign announcement, Sheehy met with “roughly 20 lobbyists” to plot his Senate run. In the short few months since he launched his campaign, he’s already raked in $42,000 from lobbyists.
If that’s not enough, next month, Sheehy plans to release a memoir and give a portion of the funds to the “United Aerial Firefighters Association, a Washington, DC-based industry group that Sheehy helped found less than a year ago.” This group lobbies on issues that benefit Bridger Aerospace’s bottom line.
While Sheehy is surely thankful for the government contracts and lobbying ties that have made him rich, we know that Montanans will see through his facade.
Sheehy is a Montana outsider and a Washington insider – there’s no place for him in the U.S. Senate.
