Sheehy would be one of the richest lawmakers if elected
Helena, MT – Multimillionaire Tim Sheehy is sitting pretty on vast personal wealth that makes him out of touch with working Montana families. In fact, Tim Sheehy’s $5 million salary makes him 96 times richer than the average Montanan.
That’s not all – Sheehy’s net worth is “between $74 million and $260 million,” which would make him one of the top ten wealthiest members of Congress if elected.
Montana outsider, Washington insider: Tim Sheehy’s finances make it clear that he is out-of-touch with hard working Montanans.
BACKGROUND: With Sheehy’s exorbitant wealth comes a slew of potential conflicts of interest and questionable investments:
Instead of being tough on China, Sheehy is getting rich off of Chinese investments. Sheehy has invested between “$250,000 and $500,000 in the Pzena Emerging Markets Value Fund.” This mutual fund includes substantial investments in Alibaba, a prominent Chinese tech company.
Sheehy has also invested between “$1,000 and $15,000 in Roblox Corp” which partners with the Chinese entertainment and tech company, Tencent. Sheehy previously held stock in Tencent as well.
Sheehy’s company, Bridger Aerospace, deleted any mention of climate change and the company’s ESG standards from its website as Sheehy prepared for his Senate run. Regardless, Sheehy still profits from the clean energy sector. He holds “at least $50,000 of stock in Cloverly, a clean-tech startup,” while also calling the fight to prevent climate change the “climate cult.”
Sheehy’s investment in clean tech stock is comparable to the average Montanan’s salary.
