Out-of-Stater Navigator: Transplant Tim Sheehy’s “Identity is Built on Falsehoods”

Tim Sheehy is a carpetbagger, and he can’t hide from the truth – Montanans see through his façade. In a fiery new letter to the editor, a Montanan hit Sheehy for being another ultrawealthy, out-of-state transplant who has “done nothing but erode our values and distort our culture.”

Meanwhile, Republican opposition to Sheehy continues to mount. Great Falls State Senator Jeremy Trebas pointed out that Sheehy doesn’t understand Montana issues like “water rights and public lands.” Sheehy’s Republican primary opponent took to the radio and newspaper to attack Sheehy and the NRSC for meddling in the GOP primary.

MONTANANS KNOW THE TRUTH: SHEEHY IS A CARPETBAGGER

Montanans know Transplant Tim Sheehy is a carpetbagger, and they don’t like it. As a Montanan pointed out in a new letter to the editor, Sheehy’s “identity is built on falsehoods.”

From hiding the fact that he accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from his family to start his business, to claiming to be a “cowboy” despite not being involved with the day-to-day operations of the ranch land he recently purchased, Sheehy has consistently lied to Montanans about who he is.

EVERYONE HATES SHEEHY’S TOXIC PUBLIC LANDS POSITION

A new interview from a Montana Republican is a reminder that Transplant Tim Sheehy’s toxic position to transfer off public lands is deeply unpopular with Montanans of all political stripes. Great Falls State Senator Jeremy Trebas took shots at Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate Tim Sheehy.

Trebas indicated that Sheehy has a “base problem,” noting that the “NRSC has ‘forced’ Sheehy on Montana Republicans.” Trebas pointed out that Sheehy does not have “a whole lot of depth to the issues he's talking about, nor does he have a long knowledge of Montana issues like water rights and public lands.”

SHEEHY’S PRIMARY OPPONENT CALLS OUT GOP MEDDLING

Brad Johnson, Sheehy’s Republican primary opponent, wrote an op-ed saying, “in my hour-long meeting with Senator Daines at the NRSC office in D.C. last December, he made it clear that, in his view, there is no place for another candidate in this race. The senator had no desire to talk about policy, experience, or electability. In fact, money was the only subject he chose to discuss.”

Johnson also went on Voices of Montana to say that “we do not know Tim Sheehy. I've been involved in Montana Republican politics for over 40 years… I never even heard the name Tim Sheehy until McConnell and Daines have picked him as our Senate candidate” and that “his company is 96% dependent on federal contracts, he has been handpicked, promoted and funded by two of the most powerful DC insiders in Washington.”
