NEW: Only 5% of Ryan Zinke’s Q2 Donors Live in Montana.
Meanwhile Zinke pocketed $700,000 from corporate and special interest PACS
Helena, MT – At the end of Q2 filling, Ryan Zinke’s financial report revealed that only 5% of his donors were Montanans. The core of his support is not voters from Montana, but out of state, special interests. In fact, according to his total campaign fundraising receipts, Zinke has pocketed nearly $700,000 from corporate and special interest PACs.
“Money doesn’t lie. With these Q2 numbers, it’s clear that Zinke is struggling to convince Montana voters to donate to his campaign. 95% of his war chest is funded by out-of-staters and special interests,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “If he cared about representing Montanans, his fundraising would reflect that. Instead, he’s bought and sold by corporate, special interest PACs.
It honestly shouldn’t come as a surprise– Zinke could barely convince enough Montanans to vote for him in the primary, let alone donate.”
