Helena, MT – New national reporting highlights the growing concern over Elon Musk and the Trump Administration’s federal spending cuts and workforce purges, as veterans across the country worry about the future of their jobs, healthcare, and benefits.
NBC News reports veterans, whose largest employer is the federal government, are worried about losing their jobs and the potential fallout from cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs. According to NBC News:
“It’s a double whammy to a group of people who researchers say experience mental health issues at disproportionate rates compared with their civilian counterparts and who face unique service-related challenges, including difficulty adjusting to civilian life and employment barriers.”
“It’s time for Montana’s national delegation to take a stand against Musk and Trump’s indiscriminate cuts and firings– our Montana veterans deserve better,” said Interim Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party, Justin Ailport. “The fact that we have two veterans in office, Senator Sheehy and Congressman Zinke, praising the administration and not voicing any concerns or support for Montana veterans is truly alarming.”
