Will Zinke Commit Acknowledging Final Election Results?
Helena, MT – On National Voter Registration Day, we are celebrating how safe and securely run our elections are in Montana thanks to our local county election administrators. Need proof? Look no further than well-noted CalifornianLola Zinke, wife of congressional candidate and former scandal-plagued Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.
As a Californian, she cannot vote in Montana elections. And lo and behold, she did not vote in this year’s primary election, in which her husband ran and barely eked out an indecisive victory, with the majority of Republicans voting against him. It didn’t matter how desperately her husband needed every vote he could get or that the race was too close to call on primary election night. It’s the law: Californians cannot vote in Montana elections.
This National Voter Registration Day is a perfect time to ask Ryan Zinke if he will accept the election results regardless of the outcome.
“You didn’t have to see Ryan Zinke’s tan to know that he only comes back to Montana when he wants our vote,” said Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “But thanks to the work of our county election administrations, we know our voting system is safe and effective. The question remains if part-time resident Ryan Zinke will honor the final results of the election.”
BACKGROUND:
The Zinke’s own a sprawling estate valued at upwards of $30 million in Santa Barbara, California that includes a multi-million dollar mansion and a 41-ft yachtin its own personal slip at the Santa Barbara yacht club.
Ryan Zinke had his Santa Barbara neighbors put up yard signs, held fundraisers, and is known as a peripatetic, pseudo-resident of Santa Barbara according to the Santa Barbara Independent.
After being forced to resign by Trump for corrupt and unethical behavior after just 18-months as a cabinet secretary, Ryan Zinke had his mail sent for at least one of his consulting and lobbying clients to the couple’s residence in Santa Barbara.
Zinke’s campaign is fueled by out-of-state and special interest and corporate PAC donations, with 94% of his donations since the primary coming from out-of-state. Zinke’s taken nearly a quarter of a million dollars in donations from Californians and nearly half-a-million from partisan and ideological PACs.
