Sheehy—co-founder of a D.C. lobbying group focused on steering funding to companies like his—tries to hide his lobbyist ties
Helena, MT – Shady Sheehy is up with a new TV ad where he falsely claims, “I don’t need the money from lobbyists.” Check out Sheehy’s deep lobbyist ties below:
In just six months, Sheehy raked in more than $100,000 from lobbyist donations to his campaign.
One of Sheehy’s first meetings as he prepared to launch his campaign was with lobbyists in D.C. Throughout the campaign he has returned to D.C. multiple times to hold lobbyist meetings and fundraisers.
Sheehy attended a high-dollar fundraiser with health insurance lobbyists after calling to dismantle Montanans’ health care. The fundraiser was held one day after news broke that Sheehy called for the “pure privatization” of health care, which would overturn the Affordable Care Act and shutter rural hospitals.
Sheehy repeatedly claimed the proceeds of his book were going to “fallen aerial firefighters and their families” – but the proceeds were also being steered to his lobbyist group.
Sheehy pays himself a multi-million dollar annual salary – reporting $7 million in income 2022 – that is paid for by taxpayer-funded government contracts.
No one is more supportive of Shady Sheehy’s campaign than his own lobbyist, who repeatedly promoted Sheehy as he campaigns for the job that would oversee the funding that benefits his business.
