Vice President Joe Biden to Headline 40th Annual Mansfield-Metcalf Dinner

Helena—Today, the Montana Democratic Party announced that former Vice President Joe Biden will be the keynote speaker at the 40th Annual Mansfield-Metcalf Dinner in Helena on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

“Just like Montana’s own Senator Jon Tester, Vice President Joe Biden has never stopped fighting for working families and he has never forgotten where he came from,” said Nancy Keenan, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. “We’re proud to have Vice President Biden join us to kick off what will be an exciting election year for Democrats here in Big Sky Country, because he knows what Montanans know: that Jon is a relentless fighter for Montana who has a proven record of getting things done for working families.”

At age 29, Vice President Joe Biden became one of the youngest people ever elected to the United States Senate. During his 36 years as a Senator from Delaware, he established himself as a leader in facing some of our nation’s most important domestic and international challenges.

As the 47th Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden continued his leadership on important issues facing the nation by convening sessions of the President’s Cabinet, leading interagency efforts, and working with Congress in his fight to raise the living standards of middle class Americans, address violence against women, and end cancer as we know it.

Since leaving the White House last January, Vice President Biden has continued his legacy of expanding opportunity for all, both in the United States and abroad. The Vice President launched American Possibilities to support Democratic candidates and causes who understand that America’s strength comes from a strong middle class and who will fight to ensure that every American is treated with dignity and respect.

“Vice President Biden has worked his entire career defending working families,” said Jon Tester, Montana’s senior U.S. Senator and a Big Sandy farmer. “I’m looking forward to hosting him in Montana, and showing him the enthusiasm and excitement that continues to grow in our state as we head into 2018.”

The 40th annual Mansfield-Metcalf Dinner will be held at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Details about tickets and timing will be announced in the coming weeks.
