In letters to the editor, Montanans voice their frustration with Sheehy “playing cowboy” despite not running day-to-day operations on his ranch
Helena, MT – After bombshell reporting revealed that Transplant Tim Sheehy greatly exaggerated his involvement in the ranch he purchased in 2020, Montanans are voicing their frustration. Read this week’s letters to the editor to see what Montanans think about Sheehy “play[ing] cowboy” for clout:
Missoula Current: Viewpoint: Wannabe Cowboys

Tim Sheehy, A millionaire aerospace and drone entrepreneur vying to unseat Jon Tester for Senate, presents himself as a Montana rancher. But – he grew up in Minnesota and moved to Montana barely a decade ago.
Sheehy is just another millionaire who bought a ranch 2 years ago and uses it more for self-presentation than livelihood. His Little Belt Cattle Company was created by buying up other ranches.
He has used his “ranch” to play “cowboy” with other out of state millionaires. He does not oversee the ranch’s day to day operations and lives in Bozeman.
Billings Gazette: Letter to the editor: Tester gets stuff done
February 11, 2024
[Jon Tester’s] old-fashioned that way, a farmer who thinks his job is to go to Washington and get stuff done.
Tim Sheehy, a fake cowboy who hasn’t paid any taxes for the cattle on his ranch, would probably be as useless as Rosendale. He’s running his campaign like he’s auditioning for a role on “Yellowstone.”
I’m a fourth-generation farmer. I want a real farmer representing me, not fake ranchers like Sheehy and Rosendale.
