Helena, MT – Shady Sheehy secured a $160 million Gallatin County bond to fund planes and hangars, but instead used $134 million of the bond to pay his company’s rich out-of-state investors – who are also his campaign’s top donors, NBC News revealed.
The Blackstone Group, the primary recipient of the Gallatin County bond, was one of the first investors in Sheehy’s company. But, after Sheehy paid his Blackstone investors the majority of the Gallatin County bond, the company is now cashing out and bailing on the company.
Stephen Schwarzman, one of the billionaire Blackstone founders, has poured cash into Sheehy’s campaign and super PACs supporting Sheehy, including $5 million for the More Jobs, Less Government PAC that is spending millions on Sheehy’s behalf.
