Tim Sheehy Lies About His Support for Transferring Public Lands

Montanans know the truth – Sheehy “embrace[d] a toxic position on public lands”
Helena, MT – Transplant Tim Sheehy was torched across the state after he called for transferring public lands to states and counties. Now, he’s once again lying to Montanans about who he is and what he believes.
Calling to transfer public lands is the “third rail” of Montana policy positions – but Transplant Tim Sheehy clearly didn’t get the memo after his recent move to the state. Transferring public lands to “state agencies, or even counties” like Sheehy advocates for would make it easier to sell off Montana’s public lands to out-of-state multimillionaires like him.
LIE: Tim Sheehy’s website now reads that “Tim opposes a federal transfer of our public lands.”
FACT: Tim Sheehy explicitly called for public lands to “get turned over to state agencies, or even counties.”
Since his position was first made public, Montanans have not stopped reminding Sheehy that they know the truth – his plan to transfer public lands would decimate the lands that Montanans know and love:
