Sheehy steers book sales to DC-based lobbyist group he founded and used company resources to run Facebook ads of him speaking to camera

Helena, MT – If it’s a day that ends in ‘y’, Mitch McConnell recruit Tim Sheehy is facing questions about his growing conflicts of interest as he campaigns for U.S. Senate while heading up a company that relies on federal contracts.

  • Last week Facebook took down an ad posted by Sheehy’s company, Bridger Aerospace, with Sheehy talking directly to camera because it did not include the required disclaimer for ads that feature political candidates.

A screenshot of Bridger Aerospace’s Facebook ads showed an inactive, direct-to-camera ad featuring Sheehy. The ad details note it ran “without a disclaimer” and it has now been deleted.

  • Sheehy was also slammed for planning to steer the proceeds from selling his new book to a DC-based lobbying group – a group he himself founded less than a year ago. As Business Insider reported, “If Sheehy's campaign chooses to promote the book when it's released [in December], that would mean using campaign resources to raise money for a lobbying organization that benefits Sheehy's bottom line.”

It's no wonder that at a recent event, his team “ushered Sheehy away” when a reporter with Montana Free Press attempted to ask Sheehy a question about “how he plans to ethically run for Senate while continuing to serve as CEO of an aerial firefighting company with substantial government contracts.”
