Helena, MT – Today, the Montana Democratic Party announced the formation of a new Democratic Central Committee in Stillwater County, MT. The new Central Committee represent the second newly-established Democratic Central Committee this year, demonstrating the Democratic Party’s reach in Montana’s rural areas and grassroots energy ahead of the 2024 election cycle.

Stillwater County Democratic Central Committee co-chairs, Thomas Flanagan and Devin Matthews released the following statement:

“Getting organized in Stillwater County will help bring balance back to our local politics, and balanced perspectives will help solve local issues that are important to the people in Stillwater County. Too often, one party controls the conversation. People want real solutions to real local issues, and we need more than one voice at the table to make this happen for our neighbors. Strengthening our presence as Democrats in Stillwater County will involve engaging younger generations and actively joining together to make our voices heard in the local dialogue.”

“The heartiest of welcomes to Stillwater County,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “Democrats in every part of the state are organizing their local communities because they know the stakes in  2024 have never been higher. And I’m thrilled to announce that the Montana Democratic Party will continue to expand our county committee presence.”
