TBT: As Gianforte Touts Business Record, Former RightNow Technologies CFO Reminds Voters of his Anti-Worker Past

The purpose of RightNow Technologies was “to eliminat[e] and outsourc[e] jobs overseas”

Helena, MT – In his latest ad, New Jersey Millionaire Greg Gianforte shamelessly calls himself “a proven job creator” with “the executive experience” to boost Montana’s economy. Gianforte may have sold a company for millions of dollars – which made him the wealthiest elected member of Congress – but his record at RightNow Technologies raises serious questions about his claim to be a leader for working Montanans.

Take it from Susan Carstensen, RightNow Technologies’ former chief financial officer, chief operating officer and senior vice president for customer experience. In a 2016 Billings Gazette op-ed, she wrote,

“Greg… should be clear with Montanans about RightNow Technologies’ business model. The purpose of our business was to cut costs for companies, by eliminating and outsourcing jobs overseas with technology solutions for customer service… In fact, Forbes Magazine actually praised RightNow Technologies for ‘taking the concept of outsourcing to new levels.’”

“Greg Gianforte has had an impact on American jobs — he’s sold them out,“ said MDP Executive Director Sandi Luckey. “Gianforte’s claims that he’ll bring jobs to our state are mighty rich coming from the outsourcer-in-chief himself.”
