Helena, MT – Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate and multimillionaire Tim Sheehy has repeatedly shown he’s only looking out for himself and his money – and now he’s running for an office that would oversee the flow of federal dollars to his business.

This week, new reporting from the Daily Beast revealed that Sheehy and his family gave Rep. Ryan Zinke’s campaign and PAC nearly $50,000 while Zinke introduced a bill to benefit Bridger Aerospace, Sheehy’s company. Bridger Aerospace lobbied for this bill. Sheehy’s close friendship with Zinke goes further – mere months after Zinke became Secretary of Interior, Zinke awarded Bridger Aerospace its very first Interior Department contract.

Sheehy has also refused to answer questions about how he’ll avoid conflicts of interest as he campaigns for the job that would oversee the millions in fundinghis company gets from federal government contracts.

“Swampy Sheehy has cozied up with lobbyists and pulled strings in Washington to win himself money and influence,” said Monica Robinson, senior communications advisor for the Montana Democratic Party. “Now he’s running for U.S. Senate, where he’ll oversee the very funding that has allowed him to make his millions at his government contract-funded company. You can practically smell the cigar smoke from the back rooms where Sheehy cut these deals.”
