Sheehy’s hobnobbing with anti-public land zealots comes after he called to transfer Montana’s public land to states and counties
Helena, MT – Montana transplant Tim Sheehy benefitted from a fundraiser hosted by donors who have a long history of fighting to block access to public land in Montana, the latest sign that Sheehy is a threat to Montana’s public lands.
New reporting from Punchbowl revealed that Sheehy fundraised with Wylie and AshLee Galt, who are among Montana’s top landowners and have long made it their mission to block access to public lands.
The Galts have stopped at nothing to try and prevent Montanans from accessing the public lands they know and love. They have locked gates on roads leading to the Custer Gallatin National Forest and sued the state of Montana asking the court to declare Montana’s stream access law unconstitutional, calling the law “thievery.”
It is no surprise that Sheehy would hobnob with the Galts – Sheehy called fortransferring public lands to the state and counties, which would make it easier for Montana’s cherished lands to be sold to the highest bidder.
Once again, Sheehy is out-of-step with Montanans – and voters will remind him of his missteps on Election Day (if he makes it that far).
