Tim Sheehy has embraced a “toxic position” on public lands while Montanavoters overwhelmingly embrace them
Helena, MT – Despite his best efforts to hide his position, Transplant Tim Sheehy can’t run away from the fact that he’s publicly called for transferring Montana’s public lands, which would make it much easier for public lands to be sold to out-of-state multimillionaires like him.
Recent polling reported on by the Daily Montanan shows that “Montana voters are increasingly valuing and prioritizing our public lands at the same time they are feeling the state’s quality of life is being impacted by greater development of open spaces and overcrowding,” with over 80% of voters expressing support for federal protections of our public lands.
In addition to calling for transferring off public lands, Transplant Tim has refused to allow Montanans to hunt on his 37,000 acres of “prime elk-hunting” land (unless they could afford to pay $12,500 for a “luxury hunting excursion”), and fundraised with some of Montana’s top public lands opponents.
Montanans know that public lands belong in public hands, and Sheehy’s position will haunt him from now until November.
