Out-of-Stater Navigator: Tim Sheehy’s Lies And Inconsistencies Raise Questions
Questions continue to pile up after the Washington Post’s reporting revealed Tim Sheehy gave “several inconsistent accounts” about his gunshot wound and military record.
Sheehy’s pattern of lying deserves scrutiny– he has also claimed to be a rancher even though it was revealed he is a “wannabe cowboy” who uses the ranch he bought for brand promotions and influencer photo shoots, and he claimed to have bootstrapped his company while conveniently omitting the hundreds of thousands of dollars he raked in from his family members to start his business.
And, new reporting revealed that despite Sheehy touting his business experience on the campaign trail, his business is on the brink of collapse: “Management concluded that they may not be around in a year.” Montanans are surely questioning whether Sheehy can be trusted with their tax dollars – and his motivation to run for a Senate seat where, if elected, he could steer millions in federal contracts to his struggling business.
While these questions swirl around Sheehy, the only thing certain is that Montana voters deserve truth and transparency about Sheehy’s biography.
SHEEHY’S PATTERN OF LIES CREATES QUESTIONS
Sheehy has been saying on the campaign trail that he still has a bullet in his arm from Afghanistan. But a newly reported 2015 citation from a park ranger in Glacier National Park reveals that Sheehy told the park ranger he accidentally shot himself in a parking lot – a story he is now claiming he lied about.
Follow-up reporting revealed that Sheehy “has offered different explanations for his exit from the Navy — variously saying he left because of wounds from Afghanistan and because of a heart problem triggered by an underwater training mission in the Pacific,” the latest in a string of inconsistent accounts he has provided about his injuries and military record.
The only thing clear from this story is that there are questions that must be answered. VoteVets called on Sheehy to immediately release his medical records from his 2015 hospital visit, which would offer needed clarity about what happened in Glacier National Park.
