Out-of-Stater Navigator: Sheehy’s Carpetbagging Catches Up With Him
Tim Sheehy has yet to offer Montanans a coherent plan for how he would address border security. But this week, he gave us a clue: He would like to defund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the “the agency that is tasked with border security,” as NonStop Local pointed out.
Axios broke the news about Sheehy’s vendetta against the DHS, and his comments were quickly picked up by Washington Examiner and local TV.
Montanans continue to sound the alarm that Sheehy is out-of-step with their interests. This week, Missoula Mayor Andrea Davis, Missoula OBGYN Dr. Leah Miller, and Kiersten and CeeJay, Montanans who started their family with IVF treatment, hit Sheehy for his refusal to support federal IVF protections.
SHEEHY CALLS TO DEFUND THE DHS
Breaking new reporting from Axios revealed that Tim Sheehy has repeatedly called for defunding the DHS. Sheehy’s position is revealed even as “Republican leaders in Congress this week touted the increased funding to DHS for border enforcement and security as part of a long-awaited government funding agreement.”
MONTANANS LEARN ABOUT SHEEHY’S DEFUND DHS PLAN
Montanans across the state learned through a NonStop Local segment that Tim Sheehy supports “gutting the Department of Homeland Security… the agency that is tasked with border security.”
Additionally, the Washington Examiner hit Sheehy for his DHS position, noting “The pledge comes in contrast to other congressional Republicans who have sought to increase funding and support to the agency tasked with security at the southern border.”
