Out-of-Stater Navigator: Shady Sheehy’s Support for Transferring Public Lands in the Spotlight
Whether it’s doubling down on his call to transfer public lands, which would make it easier for millionaire out-of-staters like him to buy them up, or working with lobbyists to kill bills that sought to protect Montanans’ privacy from drones, Tim Sheehy has proven that he will change Montana for the worse to make himself richer.
SHEEHY’S PHONY “SPORTSMAN” IN RECENT TV AD CALLS TO TRANSFER OFF PUBLIC LANDS
New reporting from HuffPost revealed that Tim Sheehy and his top TV ad validators, Stryker Anderson and K.C. Walsh, are no friends to Montana’s public lands.
“[Stryker] Anderson plainly stated that he wants to see federal lands transferred to states, a view he understood Sheehy to share” and K.C. Walsh was a board member with Sheehy at PERC, an organization that “has called for privatizing federal lands, including national parks, and increasing fees for visiting parks and other federal lands.”
Even the very people that Tim Sheehy is putting in campaign ads to try and defend his public lands record agree: Sheehy would transfer off our public lands and make it easier to sell them off to out of state multimillionaires like him.
SHEEHY WORKED WITH LOBBYISTS TO REPUBLICAN KILL DRONE PRIVACY BILLS IN MONTANA LEGISLATURE
Reporting revealed that Sheehy “worked to kill a pair of drone privacy bills in the state legislature while he profited off developing and contracting drone technology to the federal government.”
Sheehy leveraged his connections and “coordinated with a national drone lobbying group” to urge lawmakers to block the bill in the Montana legislature which would have established protections for public privacy from drones.
And, Sheehy was courting business with the Chinese drone company DJI, which had been handing data over to the Chinese communist government.
SHEEHY USED GALLATIN COUNTY BOND TO PAY INVESTORS – WHO ARE ALSO HIS TOP CAMPAIGN DONORS
Shady Sheehy secured a $160 million Gallatin County bond to fund planes and hangars, but instead used $134 million of the bond to pay his company’s rich out-of-state investors – who are also his campaign’s top donors, NBC News revealed.
The Blackstone Group, the primary recipient of the Gallatin County bond, was one of the first investors in Sheehy’s company. But, after Sheehy paid his Blackstone investors the majority of the Gallatin County bond, the company is now cashing out and bailing on the company.
