Montanans Want To Know: Why Won’t Republicans Create Jobs?
53 Days After Session Began, Legislative Republicans Still Refuse To Tackle Economic Recovery
Helena, MT — Republicans in the state legislature have spent 53 days pursuing a radical agenda instead of creating jobs for Montanans.
Republicans in the state legislature have spent two months pushing a radical social agenda attacking the freedoms of Montana women and children, cutting wages, working against fair prices for producers, undermining worker’s rights, and harming Montana’s economic future. Blowing a hole in Montana’s budget in order to create bigger giveaways to the wealthy is not a jobs plan.
Meanwhile, Montana Democrats have championed bills to create jobs, cut taxes for working families, increase access to reliable broadband, and make healthcare more affordable for all Montana residents.
“Why have Republicans spent the last 53 days doing everything they can to make life harder for Montanans instead of passing bills to create jobs and strengthen Montana’s economy? asked Sandi Luckey, Montana Democratic Party Executive Director. “Republicans are running out of time to get behind Democratic plans to create jobs or release their own. We won’t hold our breath.”
