Montana Democratic Party Statement on Montana’s Overseas Voting System Errors and Temporary Shut Down

Helena, MT – The Montana Democratic Party’s Executive Director, Sheila Hogan, released the following statement after presidential candidates were left off the overseas ballot, resulting in a temporary shut down of the overseas voting process:

“Christi Jacobsen is the most disastrous Secretary of State we’ve had in my lifetime. Her job is to administer free and fair elections in Montana, and she has failed spectacularly at every turn: by supporting unconstitutional laws disenfranchising voters, by attempting to throw out valid signatures for ballot initiatives, and this week, by leaving presidential candidates off overseas ballots. Her unique mix of sheer incompetence and disdain for her constitutional duties have made her tenure in office a dangerous and embarrassing disgrace.”
