Helena, MT – Yesterday, during National Park Week, Montanans came together to call out U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy’s attacks on public lands and his lies to cover up his position.
Lifetime hunter conservationist Rod Bullis, Montana Outdoor Hall of Fame inductee Chris Marchion, and Rep. Jill Cohenour spoke out about the threat Sheehy poses to Montana’s public lands. Sheehy has called to transfer public lands, which would make it easier for Montana’s public lands to be sold to the highest bidder. Now, he’s lying about his record in an attempt to hide his disastrous idea.
“I am concerned about Mr. Sheehy’s record on public lands…A great deal of the state is federal lands, and we depend on the folks that manage those lands.”
“Sheehy’s plan to transfer public lands would make it easier to sell off our amazing wide open spaces to the highest bidders like Sheehy and his rich out of state friends. This is deeply out of step with the majority of Montanans who have enjoyed our public lands freely for generations.”
“When we talk about public land and Jon Tester’s battle for public land, we’re talking about freedom, freedom in Montana […] I’m going to do what I can to keep public lands in public hands and that means re-electing Jon Tester.”
