In Latest Ad, Gianforte Tries to Pull a Fast One on Montanans

Gianforte pretends that years of working to undermine Montanans’ access to health care didn’t happen

Helena, MT – Greg Gianforte has released a new 30 second ad touting his work to “protect our communities” and pledging to “strengthen our health care.” Montanans won’t forget Gianforte’s repeated attempts to rip away Montanans’ healthcare and shady history outsourcing Montana jobs.

#1 – “[Gianforte] supported… our hospitals and health care professionals. As governor Greg Gianforte will… strengthen our health care system.”

Gianforte has repeatedly voted to dismantle the Affordable Care Act – which if successful – would rip health care away from nearly 142,000 Montanans, and leave 152,000 Montanans with pre-existing conditions vulnerable to insurance company discrimination. Gianforte also continues to oppose Medicaid expansion, which 80,000 Montanans depend on for coverage.

#2 – “As Governor… [Greg Gianforte] will use… his business experience to invest in our workforce.”

Greg Gianforte “developed a company that helped businesses around the world eliminate American jobs through technology. In other words, his success is tied directly to job elimination.” Those aren’t our words – that’s the Billings Gazette Editorial Board. “When faced with paying his employees more (read: wage growth) it appears that Gianforte shipped jobs to India and Armenia.” Gianforte’s “business experience” is bad for working Montanans

#3 – “Greg Gianforte [is] ready to lead Montana.”

Time and time again, Greg Gianforte has demonstrated that he can’t be trusted to lead Montana. He told Montanans that he’d vote against a bill repealing the Affordable Care Act, and then he turned around to tell his D.C. lobbyist friends that he’d support itAfter body slamming a journalist, Gianforte lied to the police about initiating the assaultIn the words of the Billings Gazette, We simply cannot trust him.

#4 – “In Congress, Gianforte secured economic relief for Montana families and small businesses.”

Gianforte did not secure anything. He was merely one of the 419 Members of Congress who voted for the CARES ActNot to mention, on February 25th, Gianforte said, “I’m still bullish; I don’t think anything fundamentally has changed in the economy… I’m not your financial advisor but I would stay the course.” Over 40,000 Montanans have filed for unemployment in the last two weeks, and the stock market has lost over 20% of its value in the last 6 weeks.

Nice try, Greg. Better luck next ad.
