ICYMI: AG Knudsen’s office met with Election Conspiracy Theorist and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell

Helena, MT – Today, news broke that Montana AG Austin Knudsen’s office met last month with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, one of the nation’s chief promoters of the Big Lie conspiracy. During the meeting, Lindell and MT Rep. Theresa Manzella presented “evidence” of supposed election fraud, in what appears to be an attempt to pressure the Montana AG into signing onto a lawsuit challenging the results of the lawful 2020 election.

Mike Lindell has spent the last year travelling around the country, attempting to convince state Attorneys General to join in a lawsuit to overturn the will of millions of American voters. The 2020 election is widely considered to be one of the most secure ever

By meeting with Lindell to discuss the Big Lie, the Attorney General’s office is perpetuating a dangerous conspiracy theory. This decision shows a startling lack of respect for maintaining trust in our nation’s democracy.

“If AG Knudsen really cared about protecting Montana elections and the public’s trust in our democracy, his office would not have taken this meeting,” says MDP Executive Director Sheila Hogan. “The only reason you would continue to publicly perpetuate conspiracy theories about a fair election is if you’re afraid you can’t win the next one.”
