Helena, MT – Democratic candidate for Attorney General Ben Alke drew a stark contrast between himself and his unethical, hyper-partisan opponent Austin Knudsen in a recent Attorney General race spotlight story featured in the Helena Independent Record.
The Helena IR’s reporting highlights the differences between the two Attorney General candidates’ approaches to leading the Department of Justice. Alke emphasized the importance of dialing down the political rhetoric and partisanship while prioritizing public safety and re-establishing trust and confidence in leadership within the Montana Highway Patrol.
Alke also stressed Knudsen has no place in leadership given the numerous ethical complaints filed against him as the state’s top attorney and law enforcement official.
Finally, Alke called Knudsen out for avoiding the debate stage.
“It’s no wonder Austin Knudsen is too afraid to take the debate stage– he knows his tenure as Attorney General is marked by frivolous political lawsuits, misconduct, and ethics-related controversies,” said Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party Sheila Hogan. “Unlike his opponent, Ben Alke is ready to put the people of Montana, law enforcement, and public safety first.”
