Sheehy used his business associate to appeal his property taxes on his Big Sky vacation mansion, saving himself tens of thousands of dollars, while his neighbors pay their fair share
Helena, MT – As property taxes for hardworking Montanans shoot up, multimillionaire Tim Sheehy is working the system to bring his property taxes down by tens of thousands of dollars.
Reporting revealed that Sheehy used a company employee to successfully appeal and lower his Big Sky vacation mansion’s valuation by $2 million, saving himself tens of thousands of dollars in property taxes.
Last year, Daily Montanan reported that Montanans spoke “about the difficulty of filling out the applications” for a property tax appeal, and that “some appeals may not be processed before tax bills come out.”
Not for Tim Sheehy, who used a company employee to fill out his appeal – and got his Big Sky mansion property value reduced by $2 million while most Montanans saw their property taxes skyrocket.
