Reminder that Sheehy’s toxic position to transfer off public lands is deeply unpopular with Montanans
Helena, MT – A new interview from a Montana Republican today is a reminder that Transplant Tim Sheehy’s toxic position to transfer off public lands is deeply unpopular with Montanans of all political stripes. Today, Great Falls State Senator Jeremy Trebas took shots at Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate Tim Sheehy.
Trebas indicated that Sheehy has a “base problem,” noting that the “NRSC has ‘forced’ Sheehy on Montana Republicans.” Trebas pointed out that Sheehy does not have “a whole lot of depth to the issues he's talking about, nor does he have a long knowledge of Montana issues like water rights and public lands.”
Sheehy made clear that he has no understanding of Montana issues when he called for transferring public lands to states and counties – which would make it easier for Montana’s public lands to be sold off to out-of-state multimillionaires (like Sheehy).
Attacking public lands is a losing issue in Montana, and voters will not forget where Sheehy stands.
