Matt Rosendale and Ryan Zinke May Deliver the GOP House Majority
Helena, MT – It is no longer a fringe or far-fetched position: mainstream GOP leadership has laid out their plan to make drastic cuts to Social Security and Medicare in order to make Democrats fall in line, if they take back the House this November.
If Rep. Rosendale and Ryan Zinke are elected to serve as Montana’s Representatives, will they vote to cut Social Security? Will they vote to put Medicare on the chopping block for a political stunt?
We have no reason to believe that these candidates would stand up to their own parties and vote to protect benefits for Montana seniors.
“When the Republicans tell us their plans, believe them,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “They told us they were coming after Roe, and we didn’t believe them. Then they wiped out our reproductive freedoms with glee. Now, they are telling us that they’re coming after Social Security and Medicare. We would be fools not to believe them. The stakes of this November’s election could not be higher.”
