Gianforte Begins His Next Attack on Reproductive Freedom

Helena, MT – Early this week, Governor Gianforte’s office announced that the Governor himself wrote an amicus brief in support of the anti-choice, government overreach laws that are currently before the state Supreme Court. He says that the courts “must necessarily revisit its decision in Armstrong,” the 1999 court ruling that protects Montanans freedom from government overreach or control in their private health care decisions. 

“Gianforte is coming after your reproductive freedom. Let’s be perfectly clear – he wants more power over your privacy and your personal medical decisions,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “The best way to stop him is by electing Democrats to the Legislature to check his radical abuse of power. Montana Democrats will not let these politicians take away your freedoms.”
