Even Republican Leaders Know Greg Gianforte Doesn’t Share Montana Values
Helena, MT – This week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Attorney General Tim Fox released a campaign ad criticizing “out-of-state millionaires” like Greg Gianforte who “force their values” on “#NativeMontanans.”
Throughout his time in business and Congress, Greg Gianforte has refused to champion Montana values. Montanans love our public lands – Gianforte sued the state to restrict access to them. Montanans believe that everyone should have access to quality, affordable healthcare – Gianforte continues to support efforts to slash healthcare access and roll back protections for Montanans with pre-existing conditions. Montanans support public schools and teachers – Gianforte has sought to defund public education and attack teachers.
In response, the Chair of the Montana Democratic Party, Robyn Driscoll, released the following statement:
“Attorney General Fox said it best. ‘In Montana, you can’t buy votes. You earn ‘em.’ Montanans rejected New Jersey millionaire Greg Gianforte in 2016 and they’ll do it again in 2020. And while Attorney General Fox has some major flaws of his own — particularly his views on women’s rights and his sorry attempts to pander to fast food franchises — I’m glad to recognize Greg Gianforte’s complete unfitness for Governor as a matter of bipartisan agreement.”
