Daines Voices Support for Protesters blocking border;

Encouraging disruption to the supply chain for political theater

Helena, MT – Senator Steve Daines tweeted support for an Anti-Vax protest on Tuesday that was blocking trade and essential travel at Montana’s Canadian border. The protest over Canada’s recent vaccination requirements for international truck drivers has made it nearly impossible for northbound and southbound vehicles to cross the border, stalling commerce critical to Montana’s economy. On Twitter, Sen. Blocking the border will have disastrous effects on the supply chain. In the face of rising consumer goods prices, Senator Daines is encouraging protests that make it harder for Montanans to keep their shelves stocked. Governor Gianforte has remained silent.

“Why does Senator Daines support these radical protesters holding our economy hostage?” Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party asks. “Montanans care about affording food for their tables. We’re tired of Daines’ political games.”
