Breaking: Rep Rosendale Refuses to Condemn Violent Attack on Fellow Democracy

Helena, MT –  In a statement released yesterday, Montana Representative Matt Rosendale failed to condemn Russia’s violence against Ukraine, repeatedly minimizing Russia’s aggression against a fellow democracy by layering his statement with false balance and “bothsideism.”

“The United States has no legal or moral obligation to come to the aid of either side in this foreign conflict,” Rosendale said in his statement.

Russia’s unprovoked attack on a fellow democracy has prompted Democratic and Republican leaders to condemn Putin’s actions, including Rosendale’s colleagues senior Senator Jon Tester, junior senator Steve Daines and Governor Gianforte

“Rep. Rosendale has repeatedly shown little regard for democracy throughout his career as a carpetbagging politician, so his Putin propaganda is unfortunately unsurprising. However, by refusing to condemn this unprovoked declaration of war on Ukraine, he plummets to new lows in his embrace of America’s enemies,” says Executive Director of the Montana Democrats, Sheila Hogan.
