Busse: “We’ve got to shake things up and be loud and bold, and it just so happens that’s the only gear I’ve got.”

Helena, MT – The New York Times is spotlighting Montana’s Democratic candidates for governor and lieutenant governor in its reporting today, highlighting Ryan Busse and Raph Graybill’s appeal to Montana voters in a competitive race to unseat the unpopular Governor Greg Gianforte.

The Times’ story emphasizes how Busse and Graybill are being bold and reaching voters across the political spectrum, while simultaneously slamming Gianforte for being out of touch, as well as for his legacy of increasing property taxes and making Montana more expensive and unaffordable than ever before.

Busse argues Gianforte is choosing the wealthy and corporations over working Montanans in the Times reporting:  “Mr. Busse has argued, and rather than adjust property tax rates to ease the rising tax burden, the Republican governor and Legislature let property taxes shoot upward on homeowners while protecting businesses, especially pipeline owners, with lower rates.”

“Montanans are sick of being priced out of their homes and communities and are willing to cross party lines to get rid of Greg Gianforte, who has failed spectacularly in his job as governor,” said Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party, Sheila Hogan. “Ryan Busse and Raph Graybill are fighting to lower costs for Montana families, and Montanans are seeing firsthand in communities across the state which candidates for Governor have their back.”
