Ben Alke: “The job he’s done has been terrible… he’s been the worst attorney general in the history of our state”
Helena, MT – Attorney General candidate Ben Alke holds Austin Knudsen accountable in a one-on-one interview with KBZK this week, asserting Knudsen is doing a terrible job leading the Department of Justice and is the worst attorney general in Montana history.
Alke summarizes how Knudsen is running the Montana Highway Patrol into the ground, facing countless ethics and misconduct complaints, and burning taxpayer dollars with frivolous lawsuits as the state chief law enforcement officer. Alke explains his main priority is rebuilding the Department of Justice,
which he believes will pave the way for a better, more efficient agency that spends more time focusing on putting law enforcement and public safety first.
Alke’s interview comes just before Knudsen’s misconduct hearing before the Commission of Practice of the Supreme Court. Knudsen’s last-minute attempt to have the hearing vacated was denied and the panel will review Knudsen’s 41 counts of misconduct this week.
“Austin Knudsen has made a complete mockery out of the Department of Justice, and Montanans and law enforcement officers deserve better,” said Montana Democratic Party Executive Director Sheila Hogan. “Ben Alke will restore integrity to the Department of Justice and will prioritize law enforcement and public safety for all Montanans.”
