Matt Rosendale Pushes to Defund IVF Access

Helena, MT –Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale filed an amendment that would ban funding for IVF treatment.

Rosendale’s efforts to restrict Montanans’ access to IVF treatment is the latest attack Montana Republicans have launched on reproductive health care. Last year, Gov. Greg Gianforte signed an abortion ban into law, and the Republican supermajority in the state legislature passed a slate of extreme abortion restrictions.

This latest assault on Montanans’ reproductive rights comes a day after Montanans rallied at the Montana State Capitol on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. Montana Republicans have relentlessly attacked the reproductive freedoms of Montana women. 

“Matt Rosendale’s attacks on IVF are further proof that Montana Republicans will do anything to rob Montana women of their privacy and freedom to make their own health care decisions,” said Montana Democratic Party Executive Director Sheila Hogan. “It’s clear as day that this November, reproductive rights are on the ballot – and Montanans will reject anti-freedom candidates at the ballot box.”
