Throwback Thursday: Daines Voted Against Funding For Butte Veterans Home, Then Took Credit For It
Helena, MT – A year ago today, Senator Steve Daines attended the groundbreaking of the Butte Veterans’ Home  in Southwest Montana, where roughly 33,000 veterans live. Daines has taken credit for championing the Veterans Home and was quick to post photos on social media of himself attending the event.

Yet, back in the Senate, Daines voted against funding for the very veterans home he touted. This continues Daines’ dishonest pattern of making promises to Montana’s veterans, while betraying them back in Washington D.C.

Montanans noticed Daines’ hypocrisy – with one writing, “Senator Daines, you voted against the legislation that funds the Butte veterans home and other projects for veterans. How can I not come to the conclusion that you are a hypocrite and you must think Montanans are too dumb to see past your political posturing?”

“As Montanans celebrate Independence Day, they won’t forget Daines taking credit for the Butte veterans home – while voting against funding for it in Washington DC,” said MDP Communications Advisor Christina Wilkes. “Big Sky Country’s veterans deserve a Senator they can trust to fight for them, not one who just shows up for a photo op.”
