Three Years Ago Today: Daines Voted For ‘Skinny Repeal’ of Affordable Care Act

Helena, MT – Three years ago today, Senator Steve Daines voted in favor of the “skinny repeal” of the Affordable Care Act, which would have thrown millions of Americans off their health insurance and caused premiums to skyrocket.

What’s changed since then? Not much. Daines remains relentless in his commitment to gutting Montanans’ health care, now supporting a partisan lawsuit to overturn the ACA and rip health coverage from 112,000 Montanans.

If Daines had his wish of overturning the health care law, it could result in:

“Throughout his time in the Senate, Steve Daines has worked tirelessly to undermine Montanans’ health care,” said MDP Communications Advisor Christina Wilkes. “Come November, the hard-working families of Big Sky Country will finally elect a new senator with a proven record of protecting and expanding their health care coverage, not one who fights to sabotage it away at every turn.”
