Will the Montana Republican Party Denounce White Supremacy or Look the Other Way?
Helena, MT – Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale posed for a photo with several high-profile Neo-Nazis last week outside the U.S. Capitol. This is not the first time he’s teamed up with white supremacists: in a frequently shared photo from 2014, Rosendale posed with far-right militia Oath Keepers and just this past fall, Rosendale posted an endorsement of a secessionist and antisemitic weapons manufacturer. Rosendale has earned the respect of these high-profile Neo Nazis by flaming the January 6th insurrection attempt, voting to throw out duly-cast American votes, and voting against honoring the brave Capitol Police force
They say you are the company you keep.
Ryan Sanchez is on the left: high-profile Neo-nazi and member of the hate group Rise Above Movement that organized the Charlottesville riot, wearing a WWII-era German military trench coat.
Greyson Arnold stands to Rosendale’s immediate right: Hitler apologist, and January 6th rioter, who posted this photo on his Instagram, calling Rosendale“a real America first representative with backbone.”
In the center of the photo, sporting a large grin and looking right at home, is Montana Representative Matt Rosendale, who later tried to explain that he didn’t realize that these men were Neo-Nazis or high profile members of hate groups.
“Frankly, that’s B.S. If you cannot tell the difference between a Nazi and not a Nazi, you have no business representing Montanans,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “Matt is unquestionably unfit for office. Will the Montana Republican Party denounce white supremacy or will they look the other way?”
