This fiscal year alone, deficit projected to increase 21 percent from last year’s, to $804 billion
SHOT: A new analysis out Monday from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) shows the tax scam will contribute to a more than $1 trillion federal deficit by 2020, and that the federal deficit will reach $804 billion this fiscal year alone, representing a 21 percent spike from the last fiscal year.
CHASER: All GOP Senate candidates heartily endorsed the tax bill, even after knowing it would add to our debt while giving the wealthy and corporations a tax cut:
- Wealthy East Coast developer Matt Rosendale: “I’m thrilled that the Senate is finally taking action” with passage of the tax bill.
- Ethically challenged Russell Fagg: “I like the tax reform package…that is also the way to grow the economy.” The tax scam is “gonna be beneficial, and that’s gonna benefit Montanans and Americans by economic growth.”
- Californian Troy Downing: Thinks opposing the tax scam “isn’t putting Montana first.”
