Montanans deserve to know: how do Daines & Rosendale plan on voting?

Helena, MT – Tuesday morning, a Senate Republican introduced a nationwide abortion ban in the US Senate, despite the fact that for months they have assured Americans that the decision should be left to the states. 

Less than two months away from the November midterm elections, Montana voters deserve to know how the Republican party, and more specifically, how Senator Steve Daines plans on voting on the nationwide ban. Montanans deserve to know how Representative Rosendale would vote if a similar bill is introduced in the House. 

A majority of Montanans do not support a national ban on abortion. Will Daines and Rosendale vote for what their constituents believe in or will they continue to blindly and loyally follow in their national party’s orders? 

“Do not underestimate the lengths the Republican Party will go to undermine our rights,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “They lied to get Justices on the Supreme Court; they lied about kicking this back to the states; they will lie again. This is not a game - this very well could be life-and-death for women across Montana.”
