NEW: Rosendale Reaffirms Support for ACA Repeal, Shills for Health-Sharing Ministries, Which Don’t Cover Pre-Existing Conditions

Helena, MT – In a new interview with the Havre Daily News, Maryland Matt Rosendale reaffirms his support for repealing the Affordable Care Act, which protects 152,000 Montanans with pre-existing conditions from insurance company discrimination, and covers another 90,000 through Medicaid expansion — which has also kept rural hospitals open and created more than 5,000 jobs.

Rosendale repeats a debunked claim that he “built a framework” that will cover pre-existing conditions without the ACA, before pointing to Medi-share as a viable option. According to MTPR, “Medi-Share does not guarantee that all medical bills will be paid. Nor does it have to satisfy Affordable Care Act rules requiring coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.”

“Just to get this straight — Maryland Matt says he wants to repeal the law that protects people with pre-existing conditions; he then repeats a false claim that he can protect pre-existing conditions without that law; then, as an example of how he’ll protect pre-existing conditions, he points to Medi-Share… which doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “Whatever he’s trying to pull, it isn’t working.”
