NEW AD: MDP Calls Out Daines for Extensive History as “China’s Ambassador in Congress”

Helena, MT – Today, the Montana Democratic Party released a new ad which chronicles Daines’ years long history of not just working with the Chinese government but actively courting senior Communist Party officials.” Daines’ close ties to China go back to the 1990s when he lived in the country helping a multinational corporation start factories there, while that company was cutting thousands of jobs in the U.S. Since in office, Daines has  tirelessly been “a cheerleader for U.S.-China relations” – earning the nickname of “China’s ambassador in Congress.”
The ad is part of a six-figure buy targeting Montanans on multiple digital platforms.

“Daines’ cozy ties to China are well-documented and any attempt to distance himself from this history is merely a feeble attempt to rescue his political career,” said MDP Communications Advisor Christina Wilkes. “Daines hopes his new messaging obscures his long relationship with Communist party officials, but Montanans know better.”
