Gianforte Announces Reelection Bid Amid Historic Tax Hike, Attacks on Reproductive Freedom and Montana Way of Life
 

Helena, MT – Montana Democratic Party Executive Director Sheila Hogan issued the following statement after Governor Greg Gianforte announced his reelection bid on Tuesday:

“Governor Greg Gianforte has failed Montana. From his dangerous attacks on reproductive freedoms, to our public lands and healthcare for kids and rural communities, to his legacy of raising property taxes on homeowners – Montanans across the state are fed up and won’t forget where he stands on the issues.”  

Most recently, Gianforte has managed to increase the average property tax bill on homeowners by 21%, he booted thousands of families and kids off Medicaidand he created a bureaucratic nightmare and bottleneck at the state health department, resulting in the cutback of critical services for Montanans across the state. 

Montanans know Governor Gianforte is not looking out for our public lands and continues to attack women's right to choose and our reproductive freedom. The housing crisis has only worsened since Gianforte has been in office and Montanans are struggling to make ends meet now more than ever.

In 2024, Montanans can’t afford more failed ‘leadership’ from ultra wealthy Gianforte and his self-funded campaign.
