Helena—Today, Montana Democratic Party Chairwoman Mary Sexton announced that former Montana State Auditor Monica Lindeen has been selected to replace outgoing Executive Director Nancy Keenan:
“We are thrilled Monica has decided to continue her accomplished career in public service as the next Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party,” said Sexton. “As the attention of our nation remains fixed on lowering health care costs, protecting folks with pre-existing conditions, and saving our rural hospitals, there is no better person to lead the Montana Democratic Party than Monica Lindeen”
“I have spent more than 20 years in public service to the people of Montana, and I am excited to continue that work as the next Executive Director of the Montana Democrats,” said Lindeen. “Working Montanans want their elected officials to protect health care rights, defend our public lands, and create good paying jobs for families across our state. Montana Democrats are working hard to do all this and more, and I’m excited to get to work electing candidates up and down the ballot.”
Monica Lindeen served two terms as Montana State Auditor from 2009 to 2016, and was instrumental in implementing health care solutions for Montanans across the state, including prohibitions on discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions.
Lindeen began her career as a small business owner when she co-founded Montana Communications Network in Billings. In 1998, she was elected to her first of four terms in the Montana House of Representatives representing the rural eastern district between Billings and Miles City.
In addition to her strong record of public service, Lindeen has served as Executive Director of YWCA Helena for the past year. She holds a degree in Education from Montana State University Billings and currently lives in Helena with her husband.
