MDP Statement on Opening of Candidate Filing in Montana

HELENA – Montana Democratic Party Executive Director Sandi Luckey today released the following statement on the opening day of candidate filing in Montana for the 2020 election cycle:

“Democrats are focused on the issues that impact the daily lives of our neighbors and families across Montana – like creating good-paying jobs, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, defending and expanding access to healthcare, and protecting our public lands,” Luckey said. “Democrats know that the needs of every district are unique and our candidates are prepared to hit the ground running, knocking on doors and earning the votes of Montanans.”

Candidates running for Federal, statewide, and locally-elected public office have until Monday, March 9 to file for the 2020 cycle. In addition to being a Presidential election year, Montanans will be electing a Governor, a U.S. Senator, a U.S. Representative, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Superintendent of Public Schools, Auditor and 125 of their 150 state legislators, as well as any county officials that are up.
