Helena, MT – Following this evening’s U.S. Senate debate, Sheila Hogan, the executive director of the Montana Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“Tonight’s debate made the stakes of this election clear. Montanans have the choice between a third-generation dirt farmer who puts Montana first and a multimillionaire out-of-stater who is only out for himself.
“Senator Jon Tester’s record speaks for itself: He fights to lower housing costs, protect our freedoms, and keep Montana the Last Best Place.
“Tim Sheehy does the opposite. He represents exactly the kind of rich out-of-stater that comes to Montana, buys up multiple houses across the state, and prices out Montana families. Sheehy shows how little he understands Montanaevery day – from his plan to fully privatize our health care, which would shutter Montana’s rural hospitals, to calling to transfer off our public lands, to wanting to ban abortion – interfering in our most personal freedoms.
“Montanans won’t stand for it. Senator Tester will be re-elected this November because he is the only candidate who will always defend the Montana way of life.”
