Matt Rosendale STILL Pushing Junk Insurance in a Pandemic
Helena, MT – As Montanans continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic, Maryland Matt Rosendale is still pushing predatory short term junk insurance in direct response to concerns over coronavirus. This, despite the fact that “not all short-term plans may cover testing for COVID-19” and that the plans could “reject Montanans who have pre-existing health conditions” — like COVID-19. Recently, a report revealed that many consumers have been forced to pay for their own lifesaving treatment under short-term junk insurance plans, but Maryland Matt continues to list them as a viable option.

Rosendale himself has refused to say whether he’d buy a junk insurance plan for his own family.

If Maryland Matt had his way, 152,000 Montanans with pre-existing conditions would once again be vulnerable to insurance company discrimination. Kathleen Williams, on the other hand, will always defend Montanans with pre-existing conditions from insurance company discrimination, and continue to fight for quality, affordable health care.

“Maryland Matt Rosendale continues to empower predatory insurance companies at the expense of Montana’s working families,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “Time and again, Rosendale has proven that he’s a typical, out-of-touch politician, more interested in cozying up to special interests and than helping Montanans.”
